 Overview

Beginning on July 1st, 2021, college athletes in the NCAA were finally able to monetize their Name Image and Likeness (NIL) through individual endorsements and sponsorships. For the first time, college athletes were able to make money off of their fame and notary.

 Process

On a team of two, Vhidikah and I took one concept and in four weeks conducted research and designed an app. We iterated designs, user tested, and handed off the files to team of developers. MilNil is currently looking for funding and plans to have a soft launch in early 2022. I learned how create a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) by developing only the most essential features at the time, knowing that down the line the app will have updates and patches.

 Outcome

MilNil is a web-based platform with a pairing app that empowers college athletes and local businesses by making magnetizable relationships, under the NIL regulations set by the NCAA, equitable and transparent. Local businesses get an opportunity to use influencer marketing and athletes get to make some money.
